Carra Roots | Being Photoshoot Ready

In today's world, pictures have become a necessity for businesses' existence. It has gone from only needing a headshot for profile pictures, to now needing to implement images throughout an ever changing feed.

As a photographer I see photoshoots as a collaboration. Brands need images for specific reasons and I in turn listen and guide on the best way to implement that. Social media has produced so much pressure to stay relevant, and push out anything the fastest, but it is better to be prepared.

Here are some tips for getting the most from you next session:

Have your branding in place and ducks in a row.

So often we want images to do what strategy and processes are to. The images you are about to get are going to get likes and clicks, but make sure there are systems in place to continue the clients journey. This includes brand message and colors.

Research photographers based on style and packages.

It is tempting when looking for a photographer to find one that matches your pocket. However, not every photographer is a brand photographer and that should be taken into consideration. Be sure to look at their social or website to see if they produce the images you are looking for along with packages with the right amount to receive.

Think about the content you want to produce.

Are your photos for your website where you need a couple of images that show you as a professional or for social content to be seen relatable? If you have a business that has products, think about how they need to be seen to gain the eye of your audience. At the end of your photo session, you want to leave confident that you got the images that you need for the time period you need it.

These are just a few things you can keep in mind when preparing for your photoshoot. Prepare, search around, book consultations and talk to the photographer. If you need to talk about how to get your images to connect with your audience, feel free to reach out and I would be happy to assist.
